Dr. Shannon “Libby” Cutshall, PhD., LCP [she, her, hers]
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Cutshall earned her first Master’s degree in counseling, and her second Master’s degree in clinical psychology. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in trauma and forensic psychology. She holds dual licensure in Virginia as a counselor and clinical psychologist. Dr. Cutshall has extensive experience working with diverse populations in various clinical settings, including inpatient hospital facilities, crisis homes, out-patient clinics, school counseling centers, and private practice. Her clinical experience has encompassed many psychotherapy treatment modalities as well as expertise in psychological testing assessments for both adolescents and adults. She has considerable training in Trauma focused therapies (EMDR, TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Somatic therapies. Efforts beyond the scope of her clinical work include, coaching her staff, actively serving as a mentor for budding psychologists-in-training, consulting as a subject matter expert in organizational and forensic psychology, and when time allows, public speaking engagements. While Dr. Cutshall specializes in Humanistic psychotherapy, she utilizes modalities to fit the unique needs of each of her patients individually. Her approach is never one size fits all and is sincere, integrative, diligent, and highly strength based.
Dr. Cutshall is skilled at delicately holding different factors of lived experiences (such as: neurotypicality/ neurodivergence, social implications, systemic elements, gender identity, culture, socio-economic status, and transgenerational trauma, to name a few) to support individuals, as they navigate their personal and collective paths across the trials of life.
